My name is Ben Shor, the founder of www.GlobeTrip.net, welcome to the site!

Traveling around the world, primarily backpacking, provided me the opportunity of doing precisely what I wanted and to learn exactly what I love to do most: Explore cultures, meet people from all over the world, learn about and share different backgrounds.

Through Asia, Central America and Europe my only references were guidebooks and websites to help me discover touristy sites... I quickly found out that we were all using the same references which did not really open any gates of the culture nor lead me to the "localized" hidden spots I was searching for.

After a while I decided to change my approach of journeying and instead made an effort to join the "locals". From that point on, my exposure to local culture significantly increased and my journey became breathtaking. You cannot imagine how much the locals truly love to share their country and culture with you.

Back home, wanting to share my experiences, I decided to create a new place where travelers would share their experiences. A place where we can all connect directly to locals -no matter where they are!

No more guidebooks or long and boring articles... let's all meet online!
